The MAIS taxonomy — Evidence Primitive identifiers, titles, assertions, domain structure, schema definitions and Framework Version Register — is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.

 

You may: share, copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, transform and build upon the material, for any purpose, including commercially.
You must: give appropriate credit, link to the licence, and indicate if changes were made.

 

Required attribution: "Based on the MEA Assurance Interoperability Standard (MAIS) v0.1 by PRAECEPTA CYBERSECURITY LLC, licensed CC BY 4.0."

 

We chose a licence permitting derivatives deliberately. Some widely used control frameworks are published under no-derivatives terms, which permit redistribution but prohibit adaptation or extension — including, in at least one case, content generated from the material using artificial intelligence. That is a legitimate choice by those publishers, and we respect it. It is not ours. A standard that cannot be built upon is not a standard.

Proprietary and excluded

 

The following are proprietary to PRAECEPTA CYBERSECURITY LLC and are not covered by the above licences: the Assessment Grammar Transform rule content and engine; the Delta Register analytical content and reasoning; framework-specific mapping provenance records; and generated client deliverables.
